Hootie's Update

Hi! This is Hootie again! I’m so happy to report that I was able to have all of my corrective surgeries and I’m feeling so much better. I can run and play now just like my other canine friends here at North Shore Animal League America. Isn’t that just amazing? Sometimes I can be a real handful so the nice folks in the Pet Behavior Department work with me everyday so I can learn my manners. Thanks to the support of caring individuals like you, my dreams have become a reality; I’ve healed.

Hootie's Story

Hi I’m Hootie, an adult Collie mix, and I’ve had a very rough start. After being rescued from a municipal shelter it was soon discovered that I had serious hip problems. Left uncorrected, I would begin to have difficulty walking, sitting, standing, and would be in an ever-increasing amount of pain! In addition, I was also was having trouble with both knees. Thankfully surgery was an option for me: I have undergone three procedures and am recovering well. Recovery will be a long road for me, but I trust that the folks here at North Shore Animal League America will make me as comfortable as possible.
