Each month we'll bring you the latest stories from the foster care unit at the League where Help for Every Little Pet (HELP) is hard at work. You'll find updates on litters of kittens and puppies that have a chance at life - thanks to dedicated supporters of HELP and the associates and volunteers at the League.

Check back frequently for stories of hope, survival, and happy beginnings...

Mischa

Mischa came to us from a home where she could no longer be cared for properly; her person was pregnant and Mischa had become a responsibility she could no longer hold on to. Little did she know that the cat she was giving up was pregnant as well. Mischa’s initial exam proved what we expected. About a month later, Mischa gave birth to a litter of six. Most births go just fine but Mischa had trouble, the umbilical cord had wrapped around several of the kittens - they survived birth but two kittens suffered tremendous damage to one leg. Ultimately the deformed leg needed to be removed.
